Roxanne Sutton, Owner
Roxanne Sutton is an experienced creative and strategic communicator. With over a dozen years in communications, public relations and marketing, she’s led award-winning campaigns, launched a top 50 nonprofit podcast and built teams that produce results while having fun.
Prior to launching Worthy Journey Communications, Roxanne was the Director of Communications at the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA). She oversaw the association’s partnership communications, social media and email strategy, executive communications, and more. During her time there, she created and launched Open Space Radio, which regularly ranks among the top 50 nonprofit podcasts on Apple’s charts.
Prior to her role at NRPA, she worked at Hill + Knowlton Strategies on a multitude of accounts ranging from energy clients to nonprofits. She graduated with honors and recognition from George Mason University with a bachelors in communication specializing in public relations. She was a member of the National Communication Association's official honor society, Lambda Pi Eta, and recipient of the George Mason Excellence in Communication Award.
Audrey Fox, Communications Manager
With a decade in the communications field, Audrey has been a part of all aspects of the industry, from email marketing, digital content, website launches, public relations and social media. Her wide range of experience means she has a deep understanding of the key role each element of a communication campaign plays in your overall strategy.
Prior to working with Worthy Journey Communications, Audrey was a key member of the marketing team at the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA). There, she created and implemented complete communications plans for NRPA and other national partners, while her email marketing and social media work resulted in measurable impacts on metrics and profits. Her work also resulted in a win for the 2018 Association Trends Award for Best Social Media Plan. She has a passion for helping organizations with a mission, and her prior experience with various national brands has cemented her role in the green industry.
She is a graduate from The College of New Jersey (TCNJ) with a bachelors in Communications and a specialization in public and mass media and a psychology minor. She was the vice president of TCNJ's chapter of the National Communication Association's official honor society, Lambda Pi Eta, and recipient of TCNJ's Matthew B. Wasser Internship Award.
Neveen Shawish, Social Media and Communications Specialist
Neveen Shawish is a data analyst and social media guru in the Washington D.C. area. At Worthy Journey Communications, Neveen creates digital content, manages client social media accounts, creates graphics, prepares monthly analytic reports and more.
Before joining Worthy Journey Communications, Neveen was a media analyst for an influential sports figure where she created a daily newsletter of the latest news stories and social media trends in the sports industry. Prior to that, Neveen was a fellow at the United States Agency For Global Media where she researched and updated various reports. She also has experience writing and editing SEO focused articles for a number of affiliate marketing blogs.
Neveen graduated from George Mason University’s Honors College (GMU) where she obtained a B.A. in Communication with a concentration in Public Relations. She spent her time at GMU gaining environmental communication experience and being a part of the Honors College Connects program. She was published in the George Mason Review (vol. 29), the University’s interdisciplinary academic journal, for her paper on social learning theory and the climate crisis.
